We had a blast in D.C. Jason, thanks! This photograph was taken at 5:00 PM, we had just come down from the Washington Monument. We were the last four visitors up to the top on the 125th anniversary (to the day) of the Monument. A special day.
1) My son is more the game player than my daughter (10 yrs old and he played War of the Ring his first time with little help and only normal levels of training,) but Isabel never passes on a chance to get her picture taken...so...
2) The grass in certain areas of the mall was quite impressive (directly behind us they were transplanting grass actually,) but in some other areas, particularly mid mall around the Smithsonian- closer to the Capitol, it was dirt and barren.
3) Wind was in fact too strong to play, not to mention my wife was run over twice by a large group of teenagers (she was very red faced and upset- she is very reactionary towards people who lack consideration)
I have uploaded some other shots if anyone wants to check them out. They are under my profile here--->
People have claimed that we used a studio with a fill light and that the backdrop is actually an oil painting completed by Bob Ross before his death-- That if you look carefully, the taxi is a Matchbox car, and the group of people in the middle ground are actually Blood Bowl minis painted to look like tourists-- That the game board is actually a first edition TS board painted to look like the deluxe edition.
The Mythbusters have invited my daughter to help them determine whether this shot was fabricated. She impolitely declined, saying, "I care nothing for your Americans medias." She is a red as you can clearly see from the picture.
It was reward enough to be taking the photograph after lugging Twilight Struggle all day long on the Metro, through various security checkpoints and similarly all over the hillside of Arlington Cemetery and the National Mall. It was the first time I realized just how truly and aptly the game was named. Funny what a man will do for the sake of a concept or ideal that is firmly and stubbornly planted in his head... Perhaps I should have brought Campaign Manager instead
I might have to reconsider my trip to the Red Square to play Kremlin next month. Hmmm...
This is how I spent my 2011 Supporter Bonus ... how about you?
Alright 2012 ... Let's get this year started!
