I combined two sets of FITS together to create a gaming "appetizer" as people arrive to the party. It does quite well in this role, as the rules are intuitive, quick to explain and strategy is non-trivial without stifling conversation with analysis.

As new people arrive, we team them up with existing players so they can discuss strategy together and learn the game.

Since rounds play quite quickly, new arrivals don't have to wait long to play a hand without assistance.

Unlike my college oriented game parties, this session had more high end tastes, with a classier wine, cheese and pate vibe rather than that of soda pop and pizza.

High-end tastes? So I'm guessing that the McDonald's bag in the main picture was brought as a joke?

Well, we're talking relative to the raunchy types of college parties we normally run. As a matter of fact, some of the players (including me) came in expecting a more bachelor style party.

As some of our steady players graduate and get careers, their tastes start to shift...
