With all those D&D figures - this is unpainted?
Yeah, that's a little cheap. Plus, I don't recall any dragons kicking around the Castle Ravenloft scenario.
I also suppose the build it yourself Descent-style nature of the board will encourage gamers to buy more than one copy of the game (if it's any good). You know, for those super-dungeons we all like to construct.
Mmmm...just got Claustrophobia and Catacombs this month, and added 2 more to my list: this one and DungeonQuest. (And possibly Battles of Westeros, though not a dungeon crawler).
i hope this is not the final version, because the cards do really look like a (good) version of monopoly
I´m really curious how it will play and if it really can fill the gap between the RPG and a normal Boardgame for people who like to have an hour of adventure with their friends! Or should i say non RPG-friends
Oh yes. They should allow you to build bigger rooms than just say 6" to 6" That´s one thing (out of many) that i didn´t like descent. Yes i said it. I really tried to like it, but just not my cup of tea (neither that of my friends)
Does this really come out in august? Cause on Amazon.de it says something about late september? so curious
4 of them actually, sort of. It was implied that they were animated statues, not real dragons. They start out as stone decor and shift into real dragons to attack. They only had 18hp each, so at best they were enchanted baby dragons, but more likely a magical construct approximation of a dragon.
In the 25th anniversary reprint and the 2e update (House of Strahd) they were replaced with gargoyle golems.
In the 3e update (Expedition to Castle Ravenloft) there were only two of them, but they were back to "dragons". This time they were "Stone Dragons," as far as I know a new creature created for the module, and mechanically distinct from real dragons. (a "magical beast")
(As another trivia note, Lord Soth killed one of these "dragons" when he paid Strahd a visit in the novel "Knight of the Black Rose.")
