Hi there, Geeks-fellows! Fuliggine & Erikthedark are very proud to show you our dice-tower we realized together for Arkham Horror boardgame. Indeed, we're proud of it because it's a multi-functional dice tower which can store all the basic game cards, and something more.
Let's start from frontal view:
- Lower part: Middle: the opener where the dice fall.
- Center: Radio display is used to keep track, in real time, of open portals, monsters in town and monsters in suburbs. When the game starts, we "syntonize" the radio on the right number of investigators, so that we can immediately check portal and monster limits. We use small stilettos to constantly update these data during the game.
- Top: The two upper niches which you see on the front are the slots for Portal cards and Outer Worlds encounters. Just behind frontal view:
Just behind the big niches, near dice-well entrance, we put several shelves to keep all discard piles in a precise order. On both flanks of "radio"'s lower part - there are ten slots (five on the right and five on the left) to store all the decks of the encounters in Arkham, of tiny cards (like items, skills, money and so on...) AND portals too. On the top, right near the dice well, there's a small container in which we store the dice and stilettos from game to game.
Thanks to our "Unique Item", all around the board we only need space for character sheets with equipment, portrait of the Elder One, and the small box with the tokens.
Yes, we already thought about a limited series of other "radios" just like you said. But then we realized that it would be a slow process (I think we needed around thirty hours to finish that) and, honestly, expensive too. I can assure that we spent something less than 100€ just for the materials: I guess we would have no clients at all
That if you kill him with the pill from the till by making with it the drug in the jug, you need not light the candle with the handle on the gâteau from the château.
i want one to! maybe you can write a "how to" so everybody can enjoy this wonder.
The design is nothing but clever, but even more than that, I love the way, the rough "finish" of this project makes it look beat-up, dusty and ancient. Stylewise this is such a perfect fit for Arkham Horror. Very, very well done!

The bar has been raised.
This is one of the classiest game management solutions I've seen on the site, and probably the coolest looking one for Arkham so far. And with all the extra duty it's handling (dice tower and game tracking)...very well done!
... and put in a little bulb behind the dial to give it that retro glow'!
Ýou know... we really thought about that. We changed our mind only because we had to invent a way to open the radio in order to change the bulb when needed.

Update: for a BGG geek, we're working on a Radio with lights inside. It seems we found out a solution
DG, that is so cool. Could you maybe make a brief description of how you built it? Also, where did you get those little Cthulhu figurines? My mind is blasted by this awesomeness.

"A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals." Agent K. Oh my what he would think of people had he known about what the internet would become.....
Any chance we could get a copy of the plans for building that? :-D
