Just a small portion to whet my appetite! Can't wait to see the full version.

edit: Will we get to see the full version at UK Expo?

Hi Daniel!

I'm the artist and my name is Andreas Resch.I've done "Tinners' Trail" and "Chelsea" for JKLM before. I've also made quite some freebies for the Austrian Game Museum as well as supportive art for other games. I'm still new to the business and will work hard to deliver good results and get better over time.

I'm just sitting on the final areas of the map for "Great Fire" and hope that you will all like it once it's done. I can tell you, there are a LOT of houses on it

Cheers,
Andreas

The portion of the board shown in the picture looks great! Excellent work.

I've been wanting to get my hands on this since it was announced!

Great Work! After Chelsea, now Central London, what are you gonna do tomorrow? The Commonwealth?

Er ... what are these double-coloured connections? Cannot remember from playing the prototype, what these could represent ...

Yeh Andreas is good. Really making my game look beautiful. I liked my prototype and like many designers was reluctant at first to let go of the baby but when Andreas started showing me hos cool work I was excited I can tell you.

Those weren't on the prototype, I would guess that they indicate the direction of possible fire expansion, looks like North/South are Blue/Red with East/West as Green/Orange. Presumably the fire expansion cards are similarly colour coded.

Sounds reasonable. But why two colours per connection? This would only make sense, if they were directed like arrows.

Anyway - looking forward for the rest of the art, pictures in action from the Games Expo (hopefully!) and the upcoming "Photo Contest List".

Hello!

You're right. The colored bars indicate the direction of fire expansion. Unlike in this preview the bars will be triangular shaped indicating the direction as well. As opposite directions are differently colored on the compass I have to use both colors to avoid misunderstandings. Can't think of any other way right now.

Here's an image of the compass (upper left corner of the board) to illustrate the topic (the orange will go a little more towards yellow in the final version). If you have any other idea on how to visualize the north/south and east/west connections, let me know. It's still time to implement this.

Cheers,
Andreas

Wonderful solution - intuitive and good to use. Every "word / letter"-solution is worse because of the "upright" problem for players sitting at the sides or "on top" of the board. I also suggested at Essen to design the cards in a way, that players can turn them in each direction according to the compass directions depending on their place. This was sometimes a little issue in the testplay I was involved.

Looks like there've been a few topological changes compared to the prototype. And I'm digging the art style.

More of Andreas' work. This is the hero of London card.

All the artwork is still a little fluid at this stage. I like the card - King Charles and Prince James DID fight the fire with buckets at least once as well as getting involved in coordinating the overall efforts.

Please remember there are color blind/challenged persons who want to buy the game.

If you are going to have colors, perhaps you can have patterns associated with that color or at least colors that are not even close to each other.

There are too many games out there where we color challenged people have to really strain to differentiate between the colors.

There will be some use of symbols to back up arrows in the fire cards. Not sure there is any easy way around the house colours issue to be honest.

Hello!

I always try to take care of the color blind community and add symbols that resolve color problems. Before the final print I will revisit the graphics and add icons where necessary.
I can't think of a way to deal with the wooden houses from the publisher side. But maybe you can paint symbols on the roofs with a marker or put some stickers on the houses.

Cheers,
Andreas
