Christian managed to store all those tiles (there are a lot more, all those curved roads, railroads, rivers... ) in the official M44 Bag, including all those rulebooks, all Miniatures (few custom ones as well), the Campaign book and a pack of cigarillos :-)
He is the only one who is able to put it all back in the bag after the game(s) ;-)
He said it took a lot of "Brainwork" and fiddling to get it all organized, but it payed off. When we play, the time for setting it up is usually shorter than with those cardboardcounters, because you need not to check the all the backsides during the search for that last fricking Crossroadtile.
Hi Geeks, thanks for all the compliments! This is the first time I have uploaded a picture of my homemade boardgame pieces and I am happy they got approved by you. Over the years while playing Memoir´44 I tried to replace all regular Hex tiles with my own 3D ones. The Hex tiles are simple 1.5 mm cardboard. The different buildings are mostly made from Balsa-wood and bits taken from railroad modelling (the railroad track is Z-scale by the way). The Hills are cut from Styrofoam. The obstacles are either taken from Axis&Allies miniatures or sculpted using self-hardenig clay and then cast in Resin. Painting was done using acrylic modelling colours. Of the original Memoir´44 units we only use the armor units. All other units were replaced by Axis&Allies miniatures. They are a little bit smaller and fit quite nicely on the different tiles. All in all there are about 270 terrain tiles and about 70 obstacles so we have enough to set up all scenarios with them. It might not seem possible (quoting my gaming buddy Brock Landers) but I managed to fit everything into the official Memoir´44 bag, including the Axis&Allies figures. I am happy to answer all other questions not covered by these explanations and I will try to take some pictures of my gaming pieces in action. Enjoy...
