Prussia this week was played by substitute Frank in the grey shirt, who is probably looking down at the detailed instructions emailed by Dave S.

And we got a bigger plexiglass this time, which had been cut to fit the map.

Looking at these pics, I finally get a sense of how bland the colors are in Empires in Arms. The game itself is so rich, that it never bothered me that the colors are so mild. In fact, I've enjoyed the mild colors and plain counters. But looking at this series of pictures I realize how unexciting the game looks in photos.

Speaking of colors... the one thing I really don't like is that Napoleon is the same pastel green as Turkey... what is up with that... must have been a printing optimization by AH to keep the number of colors low.

Actually, Andrew, I believe those colors were chosen based on one of Napoleon's sets of clothing worn as Emperor. They make him stand out from the rest of the French generals, which is a nice thing. I suppose they could have done something similar with Wellington's dark coat, but didn't. After all, this was early 1980's work. It doesn't really hold a candle to what can be done with game graphics today.
