I agree Tomas, the sub with only the ribs does not look very good, adding the bow and the stern improved the shape a lot. I think I'm still far from the end. ciao
You have Mickey and Minnie locked up in the closet ... Disney refused to pay the ransom humm ?
We (my wife and I) really love such Mickey and Minnie as they were standing on our wedding cake. Now they stand inside the closet and see our life, looking at me working on a cardboard submarine...
The toilet paper roll periscope made me laugh and laugh.
It is not a toilet paper roll, but a bigger one, the one you can usually find in the kitchen... to be honest I've planned to use a lot of toilet paper and glue to complete my sub: many layers of glue-soaked toilet paper to cover all the cardboard. I would like to involve my kids in this work, as they did not find exciting the process of drawing and cutting the pieces you have seen assembled in the picture. I guess they will find more exciting working with brushes and glue and toilet paper
Thanks, I'm afraid my English is very poor, if I understood well you mean the horizontal layers. My goal was to have the two level of the sub easily within the reach of the fingers to place the gnomes. My little son said to me that it was a big mistake to not place a couple of gnomes on the sub before taking the picture to give the right feeling of size and proportions.
I'm very happy, I've got more than one hundred thumbs with my cardboard submarine. Last week when I uploaded this picture I could not imagine that so many of you would have liked it (sorry for my bad English). Thanks to all of you my fellow geek, for your friendship and your support. Can you imagine my wife looking at me working on this very important project? I guess yes, you know, and for this reason you smiled to me and gave me a thumb. As soon as I'll have a good picture showing a progress I'll post it.
