This clearly shows why a game’s greatness can’t be measured simply by numbers and checkboxes. While most of what’s written above is true, Dixit is a marvelous game that really deserved the award.

Dixit is a great game. And it's accessible for non-gamers. I haven't ever met any non-gamers who didn't fall in love with it the first time they played (and also many gamers did). That's what Spiel des Jahres is about.
