I hope they fixed the 'Underground' Lake that is part of the upstairs room tiles.
I never understood people's gripe with that tile. The art shows all of the missing intervening floors that you fall through to the lake. There's a hole in floor on the second story that passes through the first story all the way to the basement. That's how I like it. Somehow AH apologized and agreed with people that it was an error, but I like it the way it is.

It used to annoy me, but I warmed up to it eventually. Honestly it should be both an upper and a basement tile, since you can see ledges on the tile high above the lake.
This cover art terrific, but the font choice is dubious. ("BETRRYAL") It's nice that this game is getting a second shot.
I too am glad this game is getting another printing. I always wanted to buy it, but it went OOP faster than I expected and I wasn't too keen on paying $150+ for it afterwards.
I also adore the new box art. Much more enticing than the first edition.
As far as the font goes, I suspect it will be easier to tell the R and A apart on the actual box. This image is pretty small and I think that's obscuring them somewhat.

I don't think so. If the Underground Lake tile were strictly an upstairs tile, wouldn't they have made the upper floor on the tile brown wood instead of gray stone, like the other upstairs rooms? And if the upper floor is so far above the lake, why is there a detached piece? And I think the "intervening" floors might actually be submerged, like the lake rose to engulf some sub-basements. I think the back was really a misprint.

Which is rather ironic, since I remember Toys R Us was selling these for $20, just trying to clear them all out, a while back. I picked one up then and wish I had picked them all up. Would have had a nice return on investment
I really hope they're giving it a good overhaul and not just reboxing it. This is the game that began my boardgame love: it is the origin of my craze. My friends have played it again and again and loved it to pieces because it's all theme.
Which is why I hope it's getting an overhaul. It is so very thematic that it would be a pity to just make more of the same cheap components. I also look forward to better written rules.

That's how I remember it. Betrayal, Monsters Menace America, Nexus Ops and Vegas Showdown all went to clearance prices, then people that were on the fence went to get Betrayal and they were all gone. I bought my copy long before, but I got Monsters and Nexus Ops for $10 apiece at TRU.
I might still get the new edition, but there are sooo many other new games I want, too.

I picked up Nexus too that way, though I got Monsters earlier and never grabbed Vegas Showdown (didn't and still doesn't interest me). They currently have Halo Interactive Strategy Game for sale for $10, so I picked up a few copies. My son likes it, will make good gifts for his friends' birthdays
Yog-Sothoth knows the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the key and guardian of the gate. Past, present, future, all are one in Yog-Sothoth. He knows where the Old Ones broke through of old, and where They shall break through again.
I'm happy somebody is reprinting this. I regretfully traded this away a few years ago and would like to get another copy.
You want to know something truly scary and quite freaky?
Okay, well I'll tell you anyway..............The first 2 times we played this, we got the same haunt! Out of 50, we got the same haunt!! We all freaked out, no! The shuffle monster of chance was stalking us!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww............*

At least they spelled it correctly.
His point was that the font choice ("A" and "R" look very similar) makes it look like "BETRRYAL" at first glance. You can't really pull out the spelling card at that

I have a feeling it will be clearer in person, and that the word will be self-evident. That being said, I'm a total font guy too, and it's a good point. I wonder how you feel about the Dominion title logo?
If you have never played this before, you are really missing out! Our gaming group added this to our rotation of fav's about 2 years ago. We used a black table cloth, a creepy looking candlabra from old halloweens past, turned the lites down really low, and one guy even held a flickering lantern like the one from the cemetery keeper at Disneys Haunted Mansion Ride. Man I am telling you, everytime a haunt card came up, chills went up and down my spine!! This game is fun, unpredictable, and the haunt we had drove us....................... MMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaDDDDDdddddd......
I like it. It looks more "Lovecraftian", if I may say so. Definitely puts the focus on the House, as it should be... makes the House look alive and malevolent (which, dependig on the haunt you get, it just might be. )
