Here is the insert that comes with CoH: Price of Honour. This image shows the Awakening the Bear and Price of Honour tiles combined in the tray.

I don't own the Storms of Steel game, but I was impressed with how well the Awakening the Bear set combines in the tray with Price of Honour.

I want to point out that the insert is very sturdy, and designed well enough to have the outside perimeter and the inside square section (where the cards are) raised above the height of the counters in the counter slots. So the insert bears the considerable weight of the boards, rather than the counters doing it. Also, while boards are held above the height of the counters, there's not enough room for the tiles to get dislodged out of their slots, as long as the box is packed full with boards. I just picked up my game box and shook it pretty violently, and all counters were still in place. The cards however, you might want to ziplock.

Price of Honour includes replacement counters for the units in Awakening the Bear, to include corrections and layout changes. So none of the original AtB unit tiles need to be used. However, the cards and the non-unit tiles (combat effects, terrain, tracking sheet counters, etc...) all need to be combined with the new PoH units.

The only slight disappointment was that the Awakening the Bear firefight book does not fit into the smaller Price of Honour box. That's not too bad of a situation though. I also wanted to note that the maps from both of my sets (maps 1-5 and 11-12) and The Marsh (map 6) all fit into the Price of Honour box just about perfectly. It's a pretty heavy box now, but it's nice to have everything in one place.

This is absolutely flaming beautiful! What can you say about a designer and a company that goes to such lengths to provide a complete gaming experience for its customers? Owning AtB and SoS, I felt I was 'tacticaled' out and was not planning to get PoH; now you've made me think again!

Good job, Academy Games.

Great I was thinking last night that it was going to be a pain to keep this game in the boxes... good news now if my pre-order would show up.

You can download the firefights (with corrections) from the Conflict of Heroes website and print them on 8.5"x11" paper.

Here's Uwe's thread about the insert, which answered some questions I had.

I hadn't seen that before. Thanks!

It's nice to know that the future expansions will also have the same insert. Once there are too many counters for one insert to hold (in other words, once the next expansion is released), then it will be nice to stack the inserts within the same box. Just put one insert in the box, then lay a board on top of it, then another insert, followed by a few more boards on top. Nice.

Is there really that much vertical room in the box?

The PoH box is 3 inches tall, and the old AtB box is 2 inches. In the new PoH box, I now have the insert, 8 folded boards, and the status sheets and rulebook on top, and the lid fits just fine, but there's no extra room.

So I broke out the tape measure and found out that the insert is just under 1.5 inches tall. That means you'd be able to fit 1 insert on the bottom, then 1 board (which you would need for stability reasons), followed by a second insert. I'm confident the lid would fit on fine in that situation, but you might be able to sneak one more board on top to keep things in place better. But you're right, you wouldn't be able to fit more than a total of 2 boards in the PoH box with 2 of the inserts. So you'll need to haul the maps separately if you're going to take your whole collection with you.

A gamer told me yesterday that he takes the punched out counter sprues and places them under the counter tray to push it up. This way, if he wants fewer maps in a game box, everything still fits tightly. Great idea.

I give all of my counter sprues to my kids to use as doodling templates. Perhaps some of them are about to mysteriously vanish...

This is really nice. Now I'm divided. Do I continue to use my GMT trays or this?

If those 2 wells are for placing the hit counters I would suggest going away with them and using the space for something else in the future. I use coffee cups for this purpose and can't imagine anything better for the job. Oh and I noticed the dice are in pockets of two. My second suggestion would be to expand that to 2 sets of 3 sized pockets. I think many of us are using the 3d6 AP option so for room for 6 total dice would be nice. Of course no need to include more than 3 dice in any future releases. I will finally have 6 of these nice black dice once POH arrives.

There's plenty of room in the insert to fit sleeved cards. Actually, I was wondering why the card bay was so large, but I think you've just given me the reason.

Just tried to get everthing into this box. Sadly there is not enough space for everything (AtB, SoS and PoH)soblue. So I decided to leave the AtB obstacles as they are not as nice as the SoS tiles.

I don't own SoS, but am wondering... would you "need" to have the BOTH sets of obstacle tiles in the same box if you had the SoS ones in there? In other words... aren't you just "doubling" up on the obstacle tiles?

Yes, you are right, but it is a pity to keep them seperated from their brothers . It is hard enough to have so many AtB units replaced...

SoS does not have road blocks. Also, one of the PoH firefights will use all the smoke counters from both AtB and SoS if you have them.

I got SoS & PoH to fit perfectly in the PoH box. The over-lays fit right on top of the card deck if you space them correctly, followed by the six map boards and the rules, firefight books & charts. The counter tray has room for about 5 more counter-tiles. I don't own AtB however but the replacement counters fit as well. Nice to have it all in one box.

I seem to recall having read somewhere there is a difference in the maps of the games.

Can't remember exactly but either something about different thickness or the collour..
Any truth in that?
