Thanks, but no its not actually ink (sorry I was just taking 'inking' as a general term for the technique). It's actually yellow thinned with a 'future/klear' wash; although realy more like wash tinted with yellow.

Thanks for the explanation. When I get around to painting my set I'll check back here so I know what to do
What color paint did you use to get the skeleton to look green? And did you want it to look green or in the D&D lore is it supposed to be that color. Either way it looks really great, i plan on painting all my figures soon.
The green just comes from yellow washes over the translucent blue plastic. OK I'll admit it's a bit odd for flame but if there's too much paint on it it'll lose the translucent effect. Basically, I just kept applying yellow washes until I was happy with the effect.
