I'd like to know what some of the tiles are for. Do they all get covered in the Adventure booklet, because they are not mentioned in the rulebook. From what I read. Am I missing something?

Michael Melbourne,

Named tiles have no specific function other than in some scenarios

Yes, "named tiles" are used in specific Adventures. Usually, the adventure is "take out tile 'blah' and shuffle it with 4 other random tiles. Put these 5 tiles in the stack underneath the 8th tile" and then when tile 'blah' is drawn, something special happens.

Unfortunately with the sheer number of tiles it makes for a rather bland and stale dungeon. I'd really love that these named tiles did something, might spicen up the board a little.

There are no "named tiles" in Descent (though maybe there will be in the next expansion ).

Indeed, and without thumbs what would separate us as humans from lowly beasts?

Well, at least you know it's not a shallow game. It's definitely got some depth to it.
