intense, right adjective.
We've both tracks too. Once after 2:30 hours we did 1 lap only (with car setup, 4 players, 2 car per player)!

How can anybody do a 3-lap race on this?
I really want to like formula De', but it is just silly long for that kind of game (also, most of the time is spent counting spaces).

Not only can anybody do it, but last time we did I won - with a point of tyres spare, battered engine and running on fumes.

I'd recommend custom building the cars rather than using presets for this and when you do, stack up on the tyres rather than brakes because you can replace tyres each lap.

It really depends on who you play it with. A min-maxer will absolutely positively ruin the game. It is not meant to be a long game, and it's not if people just go with the course that jumps out at them first rather than trying to pick the best course.

If the game is taking too long, stick a one minute timer on turns. Seat of the pants, like real racing! You'll get more tires spent, more collision, more 'holy crap!' moments all around. Good times!

I'll have to try the timer. Every time I played it we were around 1h/1h30m for a one lap race... never dared touch the multilap. Wew ere going really down with the tires and brakes though, so nobody wanted to eyeball things.

We also have Z1 and Z2, and it's a lot of fun doing a 3-lap race.
I very much agree with the fact that a car will be put to the test and will be pushed to it's limits.
"running on fumes" you gotta love these words.
Epic track when combined.
Nice race to conclude a Championship or use it for an endurance race perhaps.
