The Egyptian theme is overdone. I hope she has great mechanics or she'll need an expansion. I'm not sure what that'll be but I'll leave that to your imagination.
I don't think she's that pretty at all, my g-f looks much much better, I guess it's the Egyptian clothes that people seem to fall for or some geeks here are desperate.
So there was some change to the front page hotness that you know of for all of us real geeks?
Yes. The image module is now broken. On purpose.
No kidding? Well it's about time I guess.
First I've heard, but I personally welcome the change. "Hot babes" appearing on the front page gives a bad impression about the site and about the hobby.
Out of curiosity, how exactly does this new feature work?

Attractive people give a bad impression?
And someone better tell marketing companies world-wide to replace all the attractive models they've been using to sell products with over-weight Dorito eating Mountain Dew drinking gamers for a better impression. Whew! Just in time for the SuperBowl!
For that matter, I guess I better divorce my wife for someone a less attractive so people don't get a bad impression of me when we are seen together.
I think the new feature auto-detects attractive people and then replaces them with Big-Macs and 64oz sodas to ensure people like the site.
I think they should keep the attractive people enjoying the hobby and instead scrub the site of the word "saving throw" if they want to put the hobby in a better light...

It's kind of like when you take your car to a new mechanic and notice some conspicuously placed calendars and posters of scantily clad women. When I see those pictures, they don't give me the impression "the gentlemen at this garage are clearly well-trained professionals and are likely to provide excellent service." Rather, my impression is going to be "the guys working here are probably a bunch of lazy, underpaid, under-qualified grease monkeys who will probably leave my car in worse condition that it was when I brought it in."

But of course we are intellectuals on this site and smart enough to know that such things are just our biases, judgments and inner belief systems, right? Such assumptions have no basis in reality of course. Even if you assumed something related to the photos, such as "this guy is a horn dog", or this guy like sex", those may not be true either - but being able to give good customer service and know how to fix a car are not related to photos in the least.
Just like women belong in the kitchen, football players are stupid, and of course, board game geeks all live in their parents basements at the age of 40, eat nothing but Dorritos, and drink Mtn Dew and can't get female companionship, right?
"Bad" is just an opinion when expressed as a global value that applies to the world. It means "I don't like this and you should not as well" just as "good" means "I like this and you should too".
I happen to think that attractive women are "good" for a hobby with a negative social image. I think it could open the minds of some people who wouldn't try gaming because they bought the sterotype of nerdsville. But then again I am not a geek or a nerd; I just like to play games and don't use the hobby to label myself or others, this is just my opinion as well.
So I wouldn't worry too much about attractive people giving "our" hobby a bad rep. I don't think the rep is has is a positive one in the first place as far as society goes people are going to hate what they hate and like what they like regardless; for every one who hates "hot babes" there is someone who likes "hot babes". From looking at product sales and model placements I would guess actually thay the ratio is probably way more in favor or people who like "hot babes" actually (glancing at the ad in the frame of this webside with a cartoon RPG chick with huge boobs)
