hate to spoil the party, but the names of the towns are spelled differently, seems like someone posted them on skype without usage of actual characters, some just have grammer mistakes.

I seem to remember there was a pretty strong effort to make sure the names of places were correct. There was some difficulty, since there's a variety of names and transliteration schemes from which to choose, depending on which language one opts for. And I think John tried to avoid diacritics (which is why, e.g., Panevėžys is simply Panevezhys). Which ones are wrong?

Steven,

well, you kinda explained it, Lithuanian and Latvian characters would make it difficult for non Lithuanians and Latvians I noticed Panevezhys, the correct name would be Panevėžys, just as you wrote, replacing it with Panevezhys makes it understandable, though such variations are not used here - unless in some instant messaging or e-mails. I would have done it maybe Panevezys then, no need to add the H

I had a "language guy" go over the town names. He thought these would be the best transliterations, and I decided to just let him make the final calls.

In the books I used to check populations, I saw there were several spellings for many places. Big differences were in German names versus the "local" names, but then the local names (such as Lativian) would also have some variation over time and and ethinicity (such as Jewish versus Liyhuanian versus Polish).

I suspect the things we did are wrong in many places, and are annoying if you are from those places. Sorry about that, but we did make an effort.

No worries, thumbs up for the effort, mistakes are not that big to actually irritate. Since this type of games strives for maximum accuraccy I just thought I'd drop a note. Trust me, in many cases mistakes are by far bigger - Lithuania being incorporated in Russia, Polish-Lithuanian Kingdom of middle ages called Poland and etc... Panevezhys instead of Panevėžys is not that bad
