Specifications of the Smart Car

Length: 2.5 metres
Width: 1.51 metres
Height: 1.53 metres

http://www.onwar.com/tanks/france/data/r35.htm
Renault R-35

Length hull/overall (m) 3.99
Width (m) 1.88
Height (m) 2.10

So, the size isn't much different. R-35's were tiny and generally not worth the gas it took to move them to the front. "35" is the year they went into production, they were obsolete before the war even started.

Max speed 19km/hr? Nice! And only 149 liters/100km mileage...

(All that aside, I have no clue if the models are in scale or not since I don't have one right now. But if they're about as tall as a man then it's probably not too bad...)
