I am a horrible negotiator, but I can't help but love this game. This is the first game that I was introduced to outside of the traditional family fare like monopoly and aggravation. First introduced to this during a 'Crises and Conflicts' social studies course in High School during the 70s. Spurred a bug that has tickled my imagination and set me down to numerous other games since.
Great to see Edi with a couple of young players that look interested. From what I've read on his history with Diplomacy, I hold him in great respect.
Hope to sit in on a game with him sometime down the road.
Afraid he'd be too amused by my antagonistic, overbearing, bullying ability to collapse and bend to the whim of any neighboring country and my unfailing inability to see the inevitable change in the political wind leading to my full-fledged alliance and support crumbling into a steam-roller of lost supply depots...
