Will there still be the multi-AFVs counters with an overhead view?

We ended up going with side views only.

The old multi-icon counters represented a platoon (and a lone-icon a single vehicle). Platoons are now represented by three black bars to the left of the unit's name; a single black bar indicating a squad (or a single vehicle/gun, as the case may be).

Excellent!

Smaller counters for single vehicles would have been nice, but probably not very practical.

Say, why not just use platoons? I find the different scales confusing.

Because this isn't a platoon-level game: it is a hybrid of platoon/squad (75 meter hexes).

Platoons are the base unit in the game, which break down into squads -- either voluntarily via deployment or involuntarily via casualties. Think of it as step losses at the tactical level.

I am glad that I preordered on P500 a while ago. Great job, I can't wait to get this on the table.

Dislikes: The high value/multiple numbers on the counters and the seemingly complicated mechanics of the game.

Likes: the info markers are just too cool!

Verdict: Game ordered, twice.

But will they be think enough Carl? And is that why you bought two copies, so you could glue the counters togther

I'm looking forward to this game as well. Gonna be an expensive few months with the new games coming out...

Best wishes,

Doug

Of course not! I usually order a double of the countersheets to do this, NOT two games, but for a few silly game manufacturers that do not offer extra counters for sale: then i often end up not buying their games because of thin counters.

I would buy this game(like i would try out Combat Commander) if the maps wouldn´t look like out of the seventies whistle I know, it´s all about the gameplay but systems like Conflict of Heroes, Lock´n Load, Panzer Grenadier etc. show that´s no contradiction.

Seemingly complicated mechanics.... hmmmm, I could take that as both a positive or negative point... Wonder how it handles the all important defensive reactionary fire....

Using rectanglar counters for vehicles is weird.

Using two unit scales in one game is more weird.

Using platoon level units in a map scale of one hex = 75 meters is even more weird.

Using similar colors for both sides is even more & more weird.
