I see you own it so maybe you're joking, but you're not supposed to read the Traitor's Tome before point in the game where the haunt is revealed.
Also, if this follows the rule of destiny that all our Betrayal games have followed, the traitor is always the first-timer or player with least experience at the table.
Last game that happened someone advised we swap players so an experienced hand could be traitor. I voted against but I was wrong.
