I've noticed that at least for me, it's easier to paint all those thingies instead of humans. And darker colors are easier to wash and highlight with drybrushing and lighter colors need to be blended or layered. These guys I just started with basic colour and started to wash with similar color, but offcourse darker and after dried, drybrushed with lighter and lighter colour. I did do washes a few times. With red, it's best to lighten the colour with skintone paints, not white Hope this helped and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me
