They are called 'bingo chips'.

This game took place at last weekends GMT West between my godly forces and those dastardly minions of the King; ably led by

The lack of early battles; only two in the first four turns, was followed by a repeatedly bloody mid war that culminated when Tom Fairfax rode out to face the King in open battle. After the evil plot by that cad Hotham, only Hull remained as the last bastion of Parliament in the North.

Two battles were fought before Fairfax withdraw back to Hull, both were indecisive affairs and resulted in the loss of key veteran forces on both sides.

The King won the game after the Scots fluttered away due to the hammer blow actions of Montrose and the King making a deal with the Bishops (alt-hist card) and then the tide truly turned away from Parliament.

The New Model Army were unable to pin and fight a decisive battle against the weaker but more numerous Royalist armies.

Ah, but if you are like me and have no idea where the likes of Scuttlethorpe-upon-Avon is located in the English countryside, the translucent chips are a blessing.

Upper Guernseysideminster?
Oliver St John-Mollusc?

I tease... I tease...

true story - I was a member of the Glasgow Vikings - a 10th century Norse re-enactment & living history group. We would do demonstrations & mock battles anywhere for travelling expenses & a good meal & drink (plus a bit of payment, but basically not much). As no-one in the group knew anything about England, we declared everywhere in England was the same distance away for travel expenses... shake

The image of a van load of Scottish-Vikings in full regalia pulling up at a petrol station somewhere in Northumberland and asking for directions to the local Elk's Lodge is too much to take....

I recall just few cards which require from the player to be acquainted with English geography; in 90% cases you just place PC markers on the location that is adjacent to other PC marker of yours.

I do understand your concern, however.

As a sidenote, isn't it funny that one can find everything in the Internet:

like, for example this: http://www.generatorland.com/glgenerator.aspx?id=49

Those sites would have saved me some trouble. I had difficulty with "Guernseysideminster".
