One question, I hope you don't mind: would you be guys also so willing to wear a tee shirt with a swastika?

A CCCP shirt playing Napoleonics? If it was Twilight Struggle I could understand. shake

Łukasz: If I was playing a WW2 game and there were themed shirts, like a nazi flag shirt for the german player and a hammer and sickle red shirt for the russian player, or stars and stripes for the american player I would wear that. But I wouldn't want anyone to see me with the shirt out of context.

I wouldn't wear any of those in any context (with American stars and stripes being the only exception).

Say you are an actor, and you star in a WW2 movie as a Nazi SS officer brutally murdering innocent people. You would do it, because you are an actor, you are playing a role, it's not who you are yourself. You are in character. You wouldn't want to take the SS uniform home and start wearing it everyday on the street though.

If you play such a game you are playing a role as an actor, you are in character, it's not who you are really. That is why I would do it, but only in context. I wouldn't wear it willy-nilly, just with the game. The correct game though.

But I don't own any such shirts.

Swastika along with hammer and a sickle are both banned in Poland. Despite that, even if they hadn't been, I myself wouldn't wear anything with any of those symbols neither when pretending, acting nor playing the game.

We should not forget that there is also many, many blood on the stars and stripes flag, for good reasons and for bad reasons.

Poland's relationship with Nazi Germany and the USSR...

Well, I won't go into it, but you might want to check it out at the library later. Some stuff happened.

Just because they are anti-nazi and anti-USSR doesn't say why they would be so much pro-US.

With all my respect Lukasz, but we were not in Poland, in our country hammer and sickle is not banned. Be sure if I ever visit Poland I would not bring this t-shirt, I am respectful with everybody and was not my intention to insult anybody, but I also demand the same respect.

Well, the fact that the US were enemies with both the nazis and commies helps here. Kinda 'the enemy of my enemy' stuff.

As for myself I wasn't even aware that the swastika symbol is banned in Poland. I always thought that only glorifying these symbols was forbidden...

Are you seriously comparing Nazi Germany and USSR to the US? Hell, the Americans have not deliberately murdered millions of innocent people.

More about my t-shirt.

I was going to wear a yellow and green Australian t-shirt that I bought in Perth recently but as it was a sunny day, I decided to wear a beige shorts so the yellow shirt does not fit well, this is why I finally decided to wear the red one.

Also, with all my respects to Poland's history, in my country, Spain, the ones repressed during 40 years were, among others, the communists.

Ha! At least in Poland we can still afford to keep the airports in business. Without any strikes. And with no external subsidies ;-)

What do the indian tribes think about stars and stripes?

I don´t want to comparing or relativate, I just want to remember that on the most symbols are blood.

I know very well that Nazi Germany are guilty for the biggest crime in history.

Had (actually, still have, although I don't wear it anymore) a Soviet hockey jersey from when I was in college. Had it for two reasons:

1. It was different; unique for where I grew up. It stood out. Different than the same old clothes everybody wore - definitely not from a chain clothing store.
2. It seemed anti-establishment and subversive. Which, when you are young, feels like a good thing to be.

It meant nothing more, nothing less.

Enjoy your shirt, Jan.
