I'm considering doing something similar across all games -- nice artistic boards in frames on a wall.

Very nice by the way -- nice looking wall pieces, and a nice photo of them. It's tough to get the lighting right on a long shot like that.

There is a McDonalds in town that has decorated its whole store with a "board game" theme, but it's all the stupid games we had growing up (Monopoly, Sorry!, Cootie, etc..) The Wall o' Risk is a bit much, but one or 2 well placed ones would be nice.

I especially like the board "in play" here. It's obvious how much money went into putting this all together, but it's truly amazing.

Greetings,

Your wall inspired me to undertake a small project that turned into a big one!

Here are a few pictures of a custom Risk board I'm making for my wall, but now I think I'm going to play on it, I'll make another for the wall later....

I've got a laser cutter, so I thought it would be a small fun project.....well over 150 hours later.... and I'm still at it... here is where I'm at...I'll post more pictures after I get the clear coat over it and the frame installed on the board. The land bridges aren’t on it yet, I’ll use walnut strips. Should be real nice when finished.

Now that I've got all the parts digitized and the fit right on all the pieces, the next one I'm thinking will go together like a dream.

The overall dimensions of the board are 36" x 24" on 1/2" thick red oak. The countries are cut from 1/8" Russian Birch Ply and I stained them with Sherwin Williams Wood Classics Stain. I'm going to apply EnviroTex Lite pour-on High Gloss Finish.

Any suggestions would be appreciated...

Thanks,

Bob
