Boardgames @ Pancake Parlour

When:
Tuesday 1 Oct 13, 6pm - Close (usually between 9.30 and 10)

Where:
The Pancake Parlour
East Rw (cnr Alinga St)
Canberra City 2601
(02) 6247 2982
Resturant area - Turn right as you reach bottom of stairs. (booked under Merran)

What to bring:
A few boardgames (not mandatory - a few of us usually bring a selection).
A smile.

Who:
Open to everyone that enjoys boardgames in a social environment.

Why:
See how well things run when we're not there! Merran and I are in Victoria on Holiday so we've brought in the A team (Not Mr T, he was unavailable). Sam and Shingo are definite maybes to be on hand to keep things running smoothly, so go along and say hi.

The fine print
The usual request to consume something from the restaurant applies.

Payment
Please remember to settle your account as your leave or pay as you order. In addition, regardless of your payment approach, please ensure that the staff cross out your order once you've paid. We've had problems in the past where people have paid but the staff believe payment is still outstanding on a number of items.

Thanks in advance.

And when you gaze long into Ducky Momo, Ducky Momo also gazes into you.

Great now I want to drive to New Hampshire to visit Polly's Pancake Parlor, yum, maple butter. I suppose it is easier than driving to Australia.

Try it and let us know.

For the first time in a very long while I should be right to attend. I'll bring Relationship Tightrope and a few other things.

I got to play Francis Drake at the GLOG and really liked it.

And.. we played Francis Drake with 4. Nice clean game, few things going on, and would like to try it again, I do like the random action spaces in the second and third voyages..

We also played San Juan, Big Shot.. and my brain is still hurting from that game.. after I managed to score negative 20 odd point.

Ended the night with Chairs, delightful stacking balancing game similar to Animal on Animal..

Fortunately there were no punch ups, fire, or excessive waiting for turns.

I also played the Sid Sackson classic I'm the Boss! - two of the younger players managed to thoroughly out negotiate their seniors.

Then the youngsters played Chess on the big board they have there and we played a couple of desultory games of two player Race for the Galaxy.

All-in-all a very good little night out. Numbers were down from my last visit ages ago, but there was still plenty of good gaming to be had.

Shingo, Murray & Sam,

For your interest, guess what was waiting for me at home last night.
The new expansions. All thay do is replace the guns and soldier values (much tougher) and add to the largest Spanish ship (instead of jewel) crystal skull worth victory points.

Not a huge change overall / just a little cosmetic.
Definately makes the large Spanish gallion a prized booty over 3 turns

Interesting. Not a huge game changer by the sounds of it, but interesting.
