Yep, you sure can. It is simple, I have all the cards.

Me and both of my playtesting group members played in the initial 40 man drafting pods, and saw a lot of them. Then, me and one of them played in a 16 man 2 pod draft at the hotel nearby with Lukas, two other FFG guys, and a variety of other top tier Netrunners. After both drafts, several players (including Scott Awesome of this forum) gave me their cards, because who needs 7 copies of Deep Thought?

Anyhow, it is possible that there is some mistake on the list because I clicked on the wrong card or some such (I mean, anything is possible), but I double checked and am confident this is it. Also, it was hinted at that the card list may change at some point in the future, as a couple specific cards were mentioned as maybe being added.

No Desperado?

Surprising, given the inclusion of other important Core Set 1 of's.

Of course it is. Were you expecting new cards? If there were new cards, it wouldn't be an LCG anymore.

Thank you for this list. This is awesome.

So this is a list of the cards you saw/own, not a list of all the cards that FFG put into the pool used by their randomizer. Is that correct?

Oh, also, anything to say about the rarity of some cards vs others?

Or thoughts about the elusive algorithm?

This is a complete list of every card in the pool, I just happen to own them all as well.

Net Police was the card mentioned as probably needing to be in the pool.

As far as rarities, I think I can say with certainty that they exist. Ninja is significantly more rare than Deep Thoughts for example (or even Femme Fatale). I think there are likely commons, perhaps 2 levels of uncommon, and rares. This portion is all speculation based on the drafts I have played, and the cards I have from multiple peoples drafts. I could probably sit with my playtest partners and come up with a proposed rarity list. Of course, it means nothing without data from hundreds of drafts or confirmation from FFG.

I don't understand your reasoning. You're not paying for cards you couldn't own before, you're paying for the draft experience, balanced by the game's designers.

It's not an experience I would pay for is the point. I know some will, but for me, without any other reason than to pay money to build a substandard deck to play against other substandard decks seems like a bit of a waste.

Draft for magic was one of my absolute favorite things because I love opening new cards and it was a cheap way to get lots of packs of new cards.

Therefore an lcg draft, to me mind you, is one of the dumbest things I can imagine. But some people love the idea. I'm just not one of them.

Snare is VERY rare. Datahound is quite common.

Yeah, like I was saying if you, Niles, Ben and I sat down we could probably hash out rough rarities. We could get a few others that have done multiple drafts like Ian in on the mix.

At least SanSan is there. That and Desperado are the two cards that most often makes me wish I had that third core...

edit: The rest of the core set 1-offs seem to be there, so there will be some chase cards.

I drafted a deck with 5 Fetal AI in it on Sunday night with the FFG guys. The deck was insane. Absolutely one of the strongest cards to get in multiples.

I'd pick any agenda over Fetal AI, except Mandatory Upgrades. Unless I had a whole flatline theme going from previous rounds.

Or may be playtesting found that the inclusion of desperado gave rise to some uninteresting draft archetypes or other imbalances?

Or maybe someone thought that a possible inclusion of desperado would spur on a singles market from the draft packs, that disgruntled LCG players would use as an argument that FFG are trying to shove the draft packs down peoples throats because the 'rare' cards from the core are included.

Every draft environment is completely different from its pre-constructed counterpart in the same game system. That is sort of the point I reckon.

Yes, that makes leaving out Desperado seem even more strange.

Re: Fetal AI. Its good to build around, but I'd take a 3/2 agenda or SanSan over it. (Though maybe SanSan isnt as good in this format, if its hard to get 3/2s). I'd take other stuff over it too, like Melange, Hedge Fund, etc.

If we really can't get all of the one off's which are missing from the base set, then my interest in drafting just fell considerably. Blah.

The FFG reps seemed to be very clear that this was not an attempt to build a secondary market or plug all of the holes missing from core.

This is meant to be a very different Netrunner experience from constructed.
I didn't think I would like drafting, but it turns out to be a very very different environment from standard Netrunner. No guarantee on getting the perfect hand as the runner. Peacock and force of nature are sought after. Trace ice works and is effective. Code gates mater. Hell, sensei in front of a hunter is a fantastic play in this format.

It's a different game with the same cards, just with the power toned down a bit. Try it before knocking it, you might like it.

So its an alternate format with a 30 dollar price tag. If they wanted to sell that what they should of done was make it an entire tournament kit. Send it to the store with enough for an 8 man draft, and a box of prize support that could only be won in a draft tournament. Then I would drop money in a heartbeat.

But as is, if I'm paying to be in a tournament for regular prize support, I'm going to play with a deck that is solid and tested. Not one based on lucky drafts.

I really don't see drafts being a solution to filling missing core set cards. MAYBE if you already have 2 core sets, but if you only have one you could spend only a little bit more and be sure to get way more cards. Drafts are a whole other style, and are meant to fill a specific niche, mostly for store play.

It will be interesting to see how it works out, personally I don't think I can justify spending that much on it as a regular thing. I could see a group/store buying a few packs and repackaging them after the draft, but at that point you could just build your own cube.
