Does anyone remember the Lost Worlds beta computer game that briefly appeared on the Flying Buffalo website? I grabbed a copy of it before it was pulled. I don't know why they took it down.
The game supported network play and included the following characters: o Man in chainmail with sword and shield o Skeleton with scimitar and shield o Dwarf in chainmail with two-handed axe o Giant goblin with mace and shield o Man in plate with sword and shield

Back in college, I wrote a Lost Worlds computer program. I only got as far as writing the routine for Man in Chainmail with Sword and Shield, but it was good enough to beat me. Unfortunately I got bogged down while writing the Skeleton module and eventually abandoned the whole project. I am afraid my programming knowledge of modern graphics routines is almost non-existant, but it was fun to work at it as an undergrad in the mid '80s.

I'm assuming that, according to the guidelines, I'm not allowed to upload the file because I don't have permission. I don't know if there is anyone who can give permission, but I know that I don't "own" the file, so I'm playing it safe for now.

Why share that you have it and then not share where to get it?

I got it from the Flying Buffalo site which I clearly stated in the first post, but after awhile it was gone from the site. I'd upload it here if someone could tell me that it would be legitimate to do so, since I don't own the rights.
If you want it, send me your email in a private message.
If someone can tell me that I'm not violating a BGG policy, I will upload the file.

I contacted Rick at Flying Buffalo and they do not wish any Lost Worlds computer game to be uploaded to any website.

There is now a Java Applet that allows you to play one of several characters against AI, check it out - http://www.flyingbuffalo.com/lostwapp.htm

Sounds like a terrific idea. Too bad I cannot get it to run.

Are you using a Macintosh? If so try it again - Macs are horrible about supporting the latest version of Java and so I remade the applet with an older version of Java (1.5); people with Macs should be able to play it now as long as their OS isn't too old and they have the latest version of Java available for their OS.

Thank you very much for your efforts. Unfortunately the new version also failed:
Java Plug-in 1.5.0_26 Using JRE version 1.5.0_26-b03-376-9M3263 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM
Have you considered an iPhone app? Hint hint, beg beg. It would mean using Objective C++ rather than Java, though.

I just tried it and it was excellent! If only I could play against a real human- You should turn this into a Facebook game!
