Daeth Zone includes more advanced rules for tournament play. Your team roster is lavished with assistant coaches, cheerleaders, kitchen staff (haflings), apothecharies and even team wizards (who can cast the most peculiar of spells - turning opponent star players into toads is a classic).

The game also features six new races to choose from when creating your team. To name a few: Halflings and Chaos dwarves.

One of the most interesting new features are the 110+ special play cards that are included. There are three categories: Dirty trick (which is used during the game), Random events (usually affects the team between games) and Magic Items (also used during play. Perhaps a magic helmet would come in handy when charging a 600 lbs Ogre?).
The special play cards not only add colour to the game but also balance play when two uneven team meet in a tournament.

The new tournament rules include: new star player skills and rules for injuries, mutations (chaos and skaven teams).

Evaluation: I find this to be a great companion to Blood Bowl 3rd ed. Even though teams tend to become unbalanced after a few games in a tournament, you can still use the Special play cards in one-off games.
The new races are also a blast!
