Can someone post an example of how these are used in practice?
Checkout the base rulebook Mission Planning section, p.34-38.
Basically you list the maneuvers you want to attempt in reverse order along with the difficulty. Then for each maneuver you figure out how much mass you need to move (payload) then look at the payload chart to figure out what rockets you'll need. For the next(previous) maneuver you add the mass of the rockets used in the last (next) step to the payload mass.
I plan to include the mission planning tablets in Part 3 of my Outer Planets video session.
I got off to a very rough start and I need to plan carefully if I have any hope of winning!
[I've not had much time to devote to gaming; end of Summer semester is here!]
