Hey
Looking for recommendations for games for 3 players (or 4).
The train trip is from Münich to Berlin after a fun Oktoberfest.
I'm looking for games that are portable, light and have no dice. If they fit the theme it's a bonus. We will be sitting across eachother (2-2).

I have allready identified Love Letter, Sushi Go!, Oh my Goods!. But they are in the 30-60 min time bracket. So maybe a game that's a bit longer.

Mottainai. Very portable (the mini edition at least), plays really well with three. Components are just cards and player mats - doesn't require much space.

It's still relatively short - once you know it a game only takes about thirty-minutes - but it is much deeper and more engaging than the Love Letter / Sushi Go! end of things.

We quite like Port Royal but if you fancy some really silly cut throat fun to break the others up, then the game I've had most people really like is GUBS: A Game of Wit and Luck

You could prob play Tales & Games: The Hare & the Tortoise on a train table?? possibly Kodama: The Tree Spirits

I'm afraid these are all fairly quick games...

Race for the Galaxy - if you learn/know it before you go - you might have to overlap cards in tableau.

Ninety-Nine - an excellent 3p trick taking game, playing cards + pen & paper to score.

Indian Chief - 2-8p innovative playing cards game (pencil & paper to score).

+1 to Haggis

+1 for Fleet and For Sale.

If you have enough table space for each player to have a tableau, a small deck-builder like Valley of the Kings would be good.

Maybe Battle Sheep as well. It does involve moving towers of counters, so if the train is bumpy it might not work. Otherwise, it's basically a fun light-ish abstract with a cute theme.

I also vote for Fleet. Kind of a weird cross between a deck builder and Power Grid. Really a lot of fun.

Fleet is a terrific game and excellent with 3 but I feel that it takes a fair bit of table space. I'd look at some pictures of play to see if it will fit on the table you have. Also, it has little blue wooden cubes.

If cubes are ok, take a look at König von Siam

Are there any games that are a bit more heavy that could work, without the box. Keep in mind it's a coupé train table.

I found a picture that might give you a feel. 1st class DB ICE.
