That's a large chunk of them...

Rio Grande Games
Mayfair Games (but they already got Catan)
Stronghold
Haba
Ravensburger
Steve Jackson

It's hard to tell exactly what Asmodee owns as each company is keeping their brand.

What concerns me is that they are grabbing all of the evergreen titles. This means that the revenue that was going to keep companies going and producing new stuff is being swallowed by this larger entity. This could be a huge change if they decide to reduce the expenditure in creating new games.

Whew, you scared me for a second. I thought this was an update to the earlier news item where they had entered into discussions to acquire:
https://boardgamegeek.com/blogpost/56171

But I think the article you are referring to is the same one. So it's not official yet - still time for the deal to implode!

I don't think Asmodee controls Queen or Repos, (and the others on your list)they have deals (or had deals) with those companies to publish their games in certain markets. That is a big difference then controlling them.

Hasbro as a company has over $5 billion in annual sales. I have no clue what Asmodee has, but Hasbro has all those toys in its line.

That said, both Hasbro and Mattel have essentially the same group of owners of their actual stock or shares, so while they are run as two competing companies, the same people make the money off their profits. I wouldn't be surprised if some of those same investor groups also "own" Asmodee.

Roger that. I thought they had merged with Asmodee. It's difficult to discern what they own at this point.

Here's an article with some additional information:
http://www.mechanics-and-meeples.com/2016/02/08/asmodee-the-...

They addtionally own:
Pearl Games
Jeux Descartes
Abalone Games

but it is just distribution deals with many of the others.

Did no one read the article? It's just a rehash of what was posted earlier by Eric Martin. Asmodee hasn't acquired F2Z.

They also don't have:
* CMON
* Petersen Games
* Reaper Miniatures
* Secret Weapon Miniatures (ObPlug: Tablescape Dungeon : Mines KS starts today)

Even if they did, I'd still have too many more miniatures to paint. laugh

Also, there's Stonemaier Games. Y'know, the guys who make that Scythe game you may have noticed at the top of the Hotness... thumbsup

Asmodee has entered into exclusive negotiations to acquire F2Z Entertainment Inc., Asmodee announced today, with the transaction expected to close in the coming months.

I definitevly understand by that paragraph that Asmodee aquiring F2Z is
imminent and just a matter of formalities.

As of October 24, it is a done deal except for any consideration for regulators in Canada (where F2Z is located) or Europe.

Asmodee is owned by www.eurazeo.com

They are a very large investment company that funds Asmodee and many other companies.

For the most part, it is hands off as long as they meet their return on investment targets, but are able to provide Asmodee lots of money for big investments.

Something something about 'putting all your balls into a single blender' or something...
I dunno. Will games' diversity go down? Will some 'competing cannibalistic' titles be shot down? Will game boxes become standardized (that's what I like). Will the problems of late slow bad translations be overcome? Will overall prices go down/up/sideways?
Or will nothing change for gamers, and it's purely a corporate shuffle affecting only top big daddiess' cash pools?
