The Ixian are a faction for Dune, cannot be used to replace an existing faction in a 4-6 player game and are designed to be a new faction in a 7-10 player game of Dune.
The rules here differ greatly from those found anywhere else.
At the start of the game after drawing your starting treachery card, you then draw 1 card from the ixian treachery card pile at random. The pile consists of Lasegun, Stone Burner, Ion Shield x2. The ion shield protects the leader from both poison and projectile but must be discard after use even if you win the battle. Also a lasegun ion shield explosion is possible.
Essentially you start with 2 treachery cards in your hand.
All your troops are fitted with cyber implants. During revivals you may revive up to 1 troop token for free.
Your Cymeks however may never be revived for free under any circumstances. Their cost is 4 spice per Cymek and you may only revive 1 per revival phase.
The Factories Of Ix
At the start of the bidding round before cards are drawn, the Ixian player may choose to auction a card in the bidding round. If he does this then 1 less card is srawn from the treachery deck. He places one of his own treachery cards at the front of the line of cards to be bid on either face up or face down. He cannot bid upon this card himself and the spice from the winning bid goes to the Ixian player.
He may however bid upon the other cards drawn provided his hand isnt full and he has spice to bid with.
A Cymek is a machine with an ancient human brain, Their combat strength is 5. They move up to 2 territories away but cannot move on rock locations or the polar sink (strongholds and sand only). Their cost to ship is 2 to a stronghold and 4 to anywhere else (cannot ship to rock or the polar sink). The cost to revive a Cymek is 5 spice. A Cymek cannot gather Spice.
Machines are a new type of troop designed to work with advanced games of Dune. The Cymeks are Machines.
A Machine cannot move during usual Maneuvers, they do not move with other troops unless they have the ability to carry troops which the Cymeks do not.
Instead Immediately after your Maneuvers on the ground you may then make 1 extra maneuver where you move up to 1 Machine that you control.
A Cymek may move up to 2 territories away.
If combat happens in a location that you have a machine then you must declare if you will use it or not in the fight before the battle plan is presented by either side. If you do use it then add the machines combat strength to your battleplans combat strengt once the results are revealed. If you lose the combat then the machine is destroyed. If you used the machine in combat and won then the Machine is flipped over to its red damaged side. A damaged Machine's stats are halved and rounded Up, so a Damaged Cymek moves 1 territory distance and has a combat strength of 3. If The cymek is ued in combat again it is killed regardless of winning or not.
You may play a Karama card to Repair all your machines currently on Dune.
You may play a Karama card to double the current amount of spice you have.
You may also discard a Worthless card to gain 1 spice.
You may discard 2 worthless cards from your hand to draw a new Ixian treachery card.
The Cymek's have powerful Psychonic abilities. During combat involving a Cymek. Both you and your opponent cannot Use the voice ability.
In games of Dune where you play with Generals, the Ixian player does not have a typical general. Instead the Cymeks are his general. If all 3 cymeks and all leaders are in the tanks together you are out of the game.
15 Ixian troops in reserve
3 Cymek in reserve
1 random ixian treachery
Ixian Alliance Ability
Whilst the Ixian are your allies, At the start of the combat phase but before any aspect of a battle plan is revealed the Ixian player may give you up to 1 treachery card from his hand provided your hand is not full.
If you are not playing with generals then remove the leader Inquisitor from the game.
