Subject: What is considered "in the wok"? rss

So we are slightly confused as to what can be technically considered "in the wok". In the picture above, obviously the beef is out. But what about the other ingredients in this picture? What is in and what is out as far as the edge of the wok is concerned?

From what the rules seem to suggest, if it isn't touching the main pile of cards, it's out.

Though you could probably make a rule based on the mat as well as.

Yeah, since we don't have the mat, we do it as "anything not connected anymore to the main pile is out (before pick-up)" We just remove them right away to be chopped back after so that the kids don't pick them up when we don't look

Using the wok mat, I'd keep the cards that aren't touching the main pile but still touching the wok. Although that might end up being a card once in a while. I'd keep the far away mushrooms as well as they are touching the main pile.

The intent is that anything touching or within the boundaries of the wok is in play. So if you are using the mat anything in the circle or touching. Without the mat, anything within the boundaries created with the reference cards are in. Cards can be disconnected from the main pile as long as they are in bounds.
