Hello,
assume this: Caesar with 8 legions and 2 auxilias marched into Atrebates (Belgia) taking controll. No other pieces there. On the current round, the belgic bot is on. There will be no battle, rally or raid. So they will march.
Assume, they only had enough warbands to reach Atrebates (11 pieces) + leader to take controll.
Will belgian bot really march into Atrrbates only being surely defeated on the next roman command? Or am I missing something?
The Averni bot will only march into Caesar by having 2:1 superiority.

Thanks in advance

Hi, yes, sounds right.

If the Romans just Marched on the same card, the Belgae have a 50-50 of the next move, in which case they would Ambush: Caesar's army is now destroyed! (If something else intervenes to disqualify the Belgae bot for Battle, e.g. another Faction playing an Event to add more Romans to Region somehow, Ambiorix would March out instead.)

If the Romans get the next move, it is still possible that other crises or Events delay the Romans, or at least that Roman Battle will force them to forego an otherwise beneficial opportunity.

If the Romans do indeed Battle next, Retreat would allow Ambiorix to escape to rebuild (9 Losses versus 11 Warbands).

Even if Ambiorix is killed, it is less of a blow to the Belgae than getting Vercingetorix killed is for the Arverni.

It is not possible to write a 1-page flowchart to both advance Non-player positions and avoid all risks. Players in the game must take such risks too!

Enjoy! Volko
