Secondly, which one of the many released versions would over all be good for 2 players. Though honestly I'm not looking for an expansion to a brand new purchase.

NOTE: This is a cross post in Ticket To Ride 10th Anniversary Edition General Form.

Thank you,

The cars from the 10th anniversary version will not fit on the regular board, nor on the board from any of the map collections.

But apart from that Switzerland is my preferred 2-player T2R.

Is your score positive? You win! (Some players win more than others.)

Switzerland from Ticket to Ride Map Collection: Volume 2 – India & Switzerland if you like drawing tickets.

Ticket to Ride: Nordic Countries if you like lots of blocking.

I only ever play the mega version because I don't want to bother removing cards or remembering different rules. Does anyone play anything but the mega version once you've acquired 1910?

I may consider the Switzerland version down the road if it is that good. Right now I have only the 10th anniversary

Another question comparing, classic, USA 1910, big cities and mega which one is the easiest version for someone who has never played

Thanks

I prefer Big Cities and my wife prefers Mega. She likes Mega for the sheer volume of tickets and both bonuses being available.

Honestly none of them are any harder than the others. It's still get tickets and score points.

Netherlands has a creative "bot" official variant that is both specifically for two player and interesting with the toll mechanism.

Switserland or Nordic countries (standalone game) are great 2 player maps.

To create tension in plain TTR i would say just classic.

Our preference is for UK. But the others see the table pretty often too.
Haven't tried Switzerland, but it is on our wish list.
