Hi fellow bggers,

I am one of the lucky Australians to have already received their kickstarter and will be giving the game a full play this Sunday.

As we don't have any sign of the official sound track being released soon, I would like to know from the bgg hive mind what music would you suggest playing in the background to make the experience more immersive, whether it's from movies, specific songs etc.

I was thinking sound tracks from the original Diablo RPG game made by Blizzard. What would you play in the background?

Some creepy Gregorian chant on repeat and low volume.

If the mood changes to demon ass kicking, maybe some thrash metal

I hear the OST is just three Cradle of Filth songs and then 38 minutes of Halloween Superstore Muzak.

The Hellraiser soundtrack is one of my favorites. I'd also suggest Goblin's music to horror movies. Or Umberto- From The Grave, which is the keyboardist side project from Goblin. Its like a 70/80s horror film, from start to finish.

For this type of game I would suggest anything by John Carpenter.

More specifically something like the soundtrack to The Fog:

You can also create a Pandora station seeded with John Carpenter. You'll get ton of great horror tracks composed by him and others.

+1 for Cryochamber - some amazing gaming soundscapes there! Also, any of Trent Reznor's film scores (Gone Girl, Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and, to a lesser extent, The Social Network) will do the trick.

If you are looking for the creepiest Soundtrack possible you should look out for Gulhaggh. Thats most of the time dark ambient mixed with recordings from an asylum. Those guys were trying to replicate the feeling of a camp like Auschwitz. Most desturbing recording ever, pure Horror.

Video Games soundtracks offer a large quality choice, and it's easy to find games with the invading hell theme.

Here's a few:

DOOM

Dante's Inferno

If things start hotting up then maybe a bit of Slepcy's And Again https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZuG5HbyTZyY

It keeps the terror of the dark ambient but adds some drill and bass chaos to get the blood pumping

Think a little outside the box with music selection. Combination of a thunderstorm with 1920s music is pretty awesome. Use to play this in a banquet hall at night, under yellow wall mounted lights, to freak out the staff. My Caribbean co-workers refused to enter the hall when it played, must be some cool cultural thing. They said they could almost detect the presents of spirits. Only me and my brother were willing to work in the hall one entire night. Everyone else freaked out an left to work in the kitchen. Played all 4 original tracks that overnight shift.

Interesting, I definitely see it running in the background for a arkham horror type game. Haven't tried this but will try this in the background next time.

I'm listening to GwtDT OST on Amazon Prime right now and it would work great for this.
