This is the first Star Wars game from FFG that include preqel characters (i think). That alone is proof they are just in it for the money imo. They have stayed clear oft the prequels in their games for a long time. Now they need all the characters they can get to be able to sell even more cards... This is a huge disappointment and a big pass for me!

Why do you think they have included the prequels characters?

They are official.

There is no reason not too.

It's not that big a deal to most people I don't think.

Um... because people like me and MANY others have been asking, BEGGING, for some Prequel love in ANY of FFG's games since they got the license?

Just because you don't like the Prequels doesn't mean everybody does.

If you don't like the Prequels you have the following FFG Star Wars games to play:

-Star Wars LCG
-X-Wing
-Armada
-Imperial Assault
-Age of Rebellion RPG
-Edge of the Empire RPG
-Force and Destiny RPG
-Rebellion board game
-Empire vs Rebellion

If you LIKE the Prequels we have... Destiny. That's it.

Like, Prequel fans can't even get ONE game without people flipping out?? Pretty selfish of you, no?

I really don't even like that they included episode 7 characters actually. Doesn't fit the theme.

Sure, do a prequel game. Thats fine, or an next gen game. Thats fine too. But keep the theme one generation at a time please. Count Dooku vs Rey... Come on, that's so unthematic it hurts.

Doesn't fit the theme?? Destiny's "theme" according to all of the announcement articles is: "Play out the battles of your imagination!", "a collectible dice and card game of saga-spanning, “what if” battles".

You obviously don't have to like Destiny, but again, I listed 9 games above that people who hate the Prequels and/or need a more thematic, enclosed era already could go play. 9.

Is FFG's 9 to 1 ratio not good enough?

You do realize that the "theme" of SW: Destiny is basically Super Smash Bros with Star Wars characters, right?

Even so. Don't like it. Takes all the seriousness out of the theme. You guys go ahead and loose your money in this one. It is not for me.

And Netrunner (your highest rated game) is not for me. To each their own, live and let live, etc. Do like the Stormtroopers on Tatooine say and "move along, move along". No need to spit in the face of people who are really excited for this.

Spit in the face?! WOW you really overreacting! Really mature of you! But then again, perhaps you are like 8 year old where that kind of expressions belong. I wanted this game to be true to the theme taking it one generation at a time like the other games they've done but that opinion is not welcome here apparently. Really mature of you sir. Really classy.

Its worth noting that to Kids getting into Star Wars with the Force Awakens, all the other films are prequels to that film.

Probably about as classy as telling people interested in Destiny:

I mean, I could go on the Netrunner forums, complain about the eras and certain characters they have chosen to include, say "it's not for me" a bunch of times but then keep posting for some reason, and then tell people I hope they lose money on it.

But I won't, because that would make me an ass. I guess we just have different definitions of "classy".

If I purchase the game and find that I don't like it, only then will I have lost money. But thanks anyway for the warning.

I mean, it sucks that SW:Destiny doesn't appeal to you, CeeTee2001. But you have 9 other FFG Star Wars game options that you could go try out right now, that seem to fit your criteria. Why do you need a 10th? I can't imagine you play all 9 already or that not even 1 of them fits your tastes.

Meanwhile, if you are a Prequels fan, a The Force Awakens fan, a fan of the full Star Wars saga, you have gotten barely anything in 4 years of FFG having the Star Wars license.

Now with Destiny there's something in FFG's game catalog for everyone. How is that a bad thing?

I say its high time for there to be prequel stuff included in the FFG catalog. There are some good assets and characters in that series whether or not some people were disappointed with the trilogy. I think FFG has avoided it for that reason but there are a decent number of characters that people like so this format gives them the best opportunity to test the waters, imo.

The inclusion of prequel characters is actually a big draw for me personally for this game. I always thought the storyline of the prequels was great and there are some great characters there, but little opportunity to enjoy them in games (let's face it, while I do enjoy Star Wars: Jedi Unleashed, I admit it's not that great of a game...) . I would LOVE to see some of that get included in the LCG at some point or, better yet, see someone reprint Star Wars: The Queen's Gambit! I would have preferred a reprint of something like Star Wars: Epic Duels instead of this "Destiny" thing but I'm willing to give it a shot!

I actually love the inclusion of prequel characters. You know whats cool about a game like this? Eventually I'll have enough to do "Force Awakens" battles. And then I can do a Jedi Council vs. Sith and later a Luke, Han and Chewie vs. Boba Fett, Vader and an AT-AT, cause why the heck not?

And since its collectible, if you hate those prequel dice, put em on Ebay and I'll buy em off you to complete my set. Now you have more dice to buy JUST heroes from Empire and ANH. Win!

No reason to hate on things that will make you money.

I guarantee if you pull a Darth Maul, he's gonna be worth more than a Greedo.

Again, the theme is Super Smash Bros but with Star Wars.

This is like saying the Beast of Caerbannog being a bunny rabbit takes all the seriousness out of the theme of Monty Python's Holy Grail.

Eh...but you are okay with X-Wing, where Darth Vader can be engaged in battle with...Darth Vader, flown by the other player?

Or Biggs can fly escort to E-Wings and K-Wings, nevermind Poe Dameron?

Honestly its about making duels between heroes throughout the star wars universe. I have no problem with the prequels at all. But overall its just a game. It lets peoples imagination grow and there fun grow weather you like clone wars or empire era. It doesn't make a huge impact and if you think its a bad game because of prequel characters, its a little selfish because some people love the prequels and they would think this game is fun. In the end its all about the fun.

TO EVERYONE that's arguing over the none thematic part of the game.

1) Its just a game not very game is for everyone

2) The game is meant to imagine battles, yes I don't like the unthematicness of some games too. But this game sounds like its specifically made to be played none thematic. Plus you can just play thematically with friends if you want.

3) Let's just all agree on one thing at least. Prequels, sequels, or the sequel's sequels. Its a great game as long as Jar Jar's out of it

How much blood can they squeeze from a dried-out old boulder that is Lucas' massive bowel movement? Thanks to Disney's far-reaching tendrils, that damn rock will get no rest.

At this point, if Jar-Jar can exist, then any form of anything $tar Wars-related will be justified by some dopey nerd out there. It's all about money and the folks who can't seem to get over their nostalgia addiction.

I'm doing my part by not buying Star Wars JUNK, so I hope someday, everyone else will just STOP so this nonsense can finally fade away.
