Looking for some good name ideas for a euro style game I'm co-designing.

In the game, players are bribing these 2 buyers who operate in a rondel style merchants market so they can collect sets of goods (dragon scale, wine, pelts, etc.) in order to pay tribute to these 7 Kingdoms before the other players do. There is more to the game (privileges that players can earn to break game rules, trading, a shifting supply chain that affects scarcity, and other stuff) but the basic theme of the game is being the first to pay tribute to all 7 kingdoms.

The world these kingdoms exist in is called Dayrm and we've been calling it 7 Merchants of Dayrm but I'd love something catchier or less dry sounding at least. Any ideas??

Dragon's Teeth Dane Geld -from the legend of sowing dragons teeth leading to multiple dragons, and the old adage 'If you pay the Dane geld, you will never be rid of the Dane', which is an anti-tribute proverb.

Edit: Dayrm, only means something inside your game. Outside your game you can only hope that saying a strange word is somehow 'catchy'. If you have a better option available, I don't think it is worth it. YMMV.

You simply MUST have a colon in the name.

Dayrm: The Merchants

Well, Euro-style games are often given geographic names, and you're game is about bribery...

...how about re-theming it and naming it "District of Columbia"

On a more serious note, it looks like the name "Tribute" is available; why not just slap a fancy subtitle on there? Like "Tribute: the Merchants of Dayrm"?

Dayrm is what needs to change.

It is not easy to know even what it should be...

Day-erm?
Da-irm?
Day-Rim?

I assume it is Day-erm. Which sounds like a southern guy saying DAAAAAAmn.

Change it.

Other than that I think Tribute is a fine name without adding a colon.

I'm, I'm afraid there's been a mistake. The man who has been speaking to you is an impostor. He is not in fact the Bishop of East Anglia, but a man wanted by the police. I am the Bishop of East Anglia and anyone who doesn't believe me can look me up

I like Tribute, but I think I'd give it something to capture the skulduggery going on with the bribes.
How about something like "Shadow Tribute", or "Tribute: Contraband"

Strongly disagree. Few people know how to pronounce Nyarlathotep, and even fewer really care whether there is a proper pronunciation or not. Yet they still love the mythos.

If OP thinks Dayrm is good, go for it. I think it sounds nice. That is when pronounced the right way, i.e. rhyming with "dayum" cool

I think you should change the spelling of your Kingdom to Dairm or Daerm. Spelling it with three consonants in a row is awkward.

Although with the focus on seven merchants and seven kingdoms, with "Day" in the name, I'd call it something like "Tribute Week."

I respect your right to disagree, but you are comparing the name of a game the guy is looking to promote and sell to a character in a whole Mythos that is intentionally spelled so that it hard to Pronounce. I am looking at it from the point of view of promotion. It would be one thing if it was a huge company like Asmodee because they have a following, but he is trying to break ground with this game and having an akward name will not help.

I go up to my new friend and say "hey man I played this cool game called Dayum today" you should check it out. Friend tries to search the net to find a copy of it and can't because the name is spelled wrong. Lost sale.

It is suggestion He can do whatever he wants, but I see it as a problem. As above poster suggests spell it like it sounds and it will be better.

Thanks for all the feedback folks.

I'm thinking about taking a different angle.

The latest idea we had was "Circle of the Seven".

It has more intrigue/hook to it and the game is all about a circle of 7 kingdoms and Merchants so I think it makes sense.
