Well, picked up the game at GenCon, played it today, and we had a few issues with it.

1) Swapping: 3 cards and twice per game. The real problem is when you get down to less than three cards. Our suggestion would be unlimited swapping and any # of cards.

2) Time limit. There's no time limit, so you can take as much time as you want.

3) Connections. The problem isn't so much thinking of connection, but making connections between what's on your hand and what's on the table. You have a relatively small pool of connections you can make.

4) Getting stuck with a card. Sometimes you have an actor or director or scene that you just. can't. identify. Especially if you've swapped twice for the game, you have no way to get rid of it. And you can only swap by building up to 3 cards, because you can't swap less than 3 at a time.

Our suggestions would be 1) a 30-60 second time-limit, 2) use of the Internet allowed (but only with a time limit), 3) an option to swap 1 or 2 cards, and 4) unlimited swapping. At least then you can discard a card you're clueless about and draw a new one. As the rules are written, even if you can't play one card and you draw a second... you're still stuck with the first unplayable card. How do you get rid of it?

Re: Cinellinx Variants
You can get rid of a card by "bluffing"?

"Sure, Anthony Hopkins was in The Fifth Element. Don't you remember?"

That doesn't work very well in our playgroup, though. They're movie-savvy enough that least one of them is going to challenge that.
