When counting range, do you start with the space the investigator/monster is in as space 1? we did it that way since you can use a ranged weapon against something in your space. but i could not find anything that called it out.

Range is within 3 spaces, meaning up to 3 spaces away. 0 spaces away is within 3 spaces.

If you are counting range, do NOT count your own space. That is range zero.

Gotcha, that makes sense. There must be some big open areas eventually then? We've only played the first mystery so far and there isn't much room for long distances.
