I agree, Mike. Unfortunately, it seems that Ananda (who did the prototype) has mastered a form of stick-figure graphic creation skill exceeded only by my own - wherein even my stick figures are crooked! We felt that showing off such compelling art work at this point would be too much for you guys! :-)

Seriously, once we get a VASSAL module ready, we'll be able to get you guys a better idea of map and pieces. And once Mark and Charlie and our art team get their hands on it, it'll look primo. That's a ways off, though if the initial order pace is any guide, it may not be as far off as I think.

Mike - let's just say that "highly functional" is the best possible spin to put on my playtest components. I'm reminded of the early TS prototype Jason made out of rollable thin foam, except that at least traveled well!

EDIT: I should add that I did make some effort to enlist artistic help on a few occasions, not to provide anything final but just to help make the playtest stuff better. But, due to plain bad luck, both artists who evinced interest had to drop out. So the road to good art might be longer for this game than for others, but I am confident we'll get there!

Looks like delay will be determined by the time required for doing the artwork and production, not getting the orders.

It will depend on where in Europe you are. In Portugal it isn't worth it because anything coming from the USA will get charged extra at customs. If money is no issue, go for it, but waiting for general release might be a cheaper option in the long run.

I'm sure the final product will be fantastic. Congrats on the release and early success.

EDIT: As a bit of a follow up question: If Imperial Struggle enjoys a similar amount of success as Twilight Struggle, will there be plans to make a Steam/iOS version for Imperial Struggle? The TS Steam app is absolutely fantastic.
