Hi All,

I am planning a group trip to Essen for 2017.

I am after some advise on Hotels.

We will probably want to stay in a local hotel within walking distance and more of a larger named one that say a boutique or even B&B.

I have heard there are a few hotels where a lot of the English stay and that are great for having games in the actual Hotel after the trade floors shut.

Can you advise where these are / names?

Don't mind paying extra for the convenience.

I also assume this is a 12 month period for when we can book the rooms?

Thanks in advance.

With similar criteria, I stayed at the Atlantic Congress, and was very pleased.

Bredeney is big, has a good restaurant, and always has cabs waiting in front of it. A cab ride to the fair costs 8 euro (split by x in your party) and takes 5 minutes.

Thanks for info so far. Would you mind advising how much per night for the hotels as well ?

I did have a read of the sticky post.

I was more interested in if there was certain hotels which catered for gamers more than others.

i.e letting them use rooms and areas to try out new games.

many hotels with lobbies or conference room does that.

the most noted ones that i know of are Atlantic congress and Motel One.

For Saturdays, check on our guild's https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1507373/dice-mystics-fringe...
and maybe it is something for you, too? Places are filling up.
There will also be a demoing of Perdition's Mouth: Abyssal Rift and Black Hat by Dragon Dawn Productions you could attend - if you manage to get past our Mandalorian guarding the entrance...
