Welcome to the second stage of the Season 19 BGG Star Realms League Cup; the Bronze Stage!

The League Cup competition is running in parallel to Season 19 of the BGG Star Realms League. This thread will have the match-ups and results of the second stage of play, the Bronze Stage. Members of the League who are playing in one of the Bronze tier divisions, and qualifiers from the Iron Stage, will gather here and face off in competition to qualify for entry into the Silver Stage of the tournament.

If you are signed up to start in this stage of the tournament, please subscribe to this thread to be notified when the pairings are posted.

Once the pairings are posted, matches should be played in a timely manner; 72 hours (3 days) for completion is the general rule of thumb. Each match is a single game, and will be played following the League guideline of using the lowest common expansion preference.

Any donations of Geek Gold this thread receives, I will distribute to the Bronze Tier participant(s) who make it the furthest in the tournament. 80 geek gold was awarded to Sodapop; 20 geekgold was awarded to Vasta

Stage Structure:
The Bronze Stage will consist of a single round for this season's League Cup, There are 80 total Bronze Stage participants; 37 Bronze Tier players, 35 Iron Stage qualifiers, and 8 Silver Tier players who have been granted the privilege of starting early. The 80 participants will create 40 pairings, with the winners qualifying to move on to the Silver Stage.

Vasta, I'm pretty sure we're supposed to play B, not BH - unless I misunderstand the preference rules

Vasta (B) v. jaiihawk (BEH)

Based on the rules, the default game in this case would be (B). If the player with the more permissive preference issues the challenge, they should assume to challenge with the default. If the player with the more restrictive preference issues the challenge, they could opt to include more expansions so long as they are included in the others preference. For instance, I am (BE), and when I face a (1B), I may choose to challenge (1B) rather than (B), and vice versa.

The rule is in place to provide a justification for rejected challenges and a guide for issuing challenges. However, if a challenge is accepted, it will count. And if a challenge is issued that fits within the challenged's preference scope, as (BH) would in your case, it should be accepted.

Many players have likely not yet informed me that they would like to change their League Cup preference to add Heroes, Vasta is likely one of those, as they did switch their League preference to (BH).

Had no idea we were playing for this, and even less of a clue how you pulled that combo out of nowhere. GG and GL the rest of the way.

Thanks for the clarification, I didn't know the more restrictive player was allowed to temporarily expand their preferences. In that case, I'll accept the challenge for BH.

Kolok def. Dusto

Well, out of nowwhere sounds a little bit strong to my ears having all those cards in my deck, also dutifully scrapping along the game with you, Sir. You're right that I had some luck drawing up my entire deck in that turn, but not that much IMO.

Anyway, it was an epic fight, your timely discard attacks hurt me a couple of times, also you had two of the best Hail Mary cards (C.Hauler, Mega Mech) so you really kept me on my toes throughout.

Gg, well played!

Vasta over Jaiihawk. BH is what I prefer but I always forget when this league is active. Twice I was challenged by someone and I didn't realize it was for this league. This is first time a won. All those cheap combat cards came thru. GG.
