Units in Anzio arrive, stay awhile, and then depart. Some units go to cities, some to designated hexes. Depending on certain conditions, some units are replaced by others, or upgraded, or activated or withdrawn. If a unit has been destroyed, certain other units must be withdrawn in its place. Particular rules come into play at different times: invasions, air strikes, air ranges, German reaction rates.... It's all pretty complicated and things can easily get forgotten. If you don't play Anzio a lot, it's daunting.

Anzio is a great game, but let's be honest: it's confusing. Most of us don't play it so often that we don't have to refer to the OOB charts and rules booklet. What's needed is a (relatively) simple mechanism that "reminds" us when it's time for certain units and rules to come into play.

Posted in the images section here are three "Integrated Turn Record Charts" and the "key" that explains them. There's one for each of the three German Reinforcement options: Standard, Reinforced, and Maximum. They're "Integrated" because (both sides) reinforcements are placed right on the Turn Record Chart. (You don't need the OOB cards.) The withdrawals are listed there too. Notations are there for when certain rules come into play, when the Allied replacement rate changes, when invasions are possible, when air strikes, mud rolls, fort rolls, extended air cover range, German reaction, etc. Whew. It's all there.

I've found that they make the game easier--a lot easier--and, with Anzio, that's a big plus.
