Our my following statements correct?

The only reason to include a family member on the ship is to become a missionary for victory points.

Once family member becomes a missionary and you get the victory points he stays there until he dies

To buy or sell at sea, only a captain is needed so no family member required for the transactions.

Thank you to the people you respond.

You can put a family member on a ship just to kill them off while they're at sea, though of course you'll get more points if you can make a missionary out of them first.

Unless of course you're pushing end game and Travel or viking burials (burying family at sea) would trigger it
