If the hero party choose to not move but recuperate/train action, can a hero choose to spent 50 coins to fully heal wounds and fatigue even if the group is not in a temple? if so, what's the need of the train action described in the rulebook about temples?

Train in temple is 50g and heals that hero to full.

A visit is 25g and heals only that temple asking in a given city.

Every time you go to a city, each hero chooses which building to go to.

Are you referring to pg 10 of the RtL book?
Quote:

Recuperate/Train Action
When the party chooses the Recuperate/Train action, each individual hero must decide whether to recuperate or train.
If a hero recuperates, he spends 50 coins and is restored to full wounds and fatigue.
If a hero trains while the party is in a city, he visits one of the buildings available in that city and follows the instructions for that building’s “train” circumstance. If a hero trains while the party is at a Secret Master Area, refer to the instructions under “Secret Training” on page 23. If a hero trains while the party is not at a city or Secret Master Area, he receives no benefit.

Yeah, i can't understand if the group can choose to recuperate and pay 50 coins each to fully heal wounds and fatigue even if they are not in a city. If it's allowed, the "train in temple" action seems useless to be described in the rulebook

It can be a little confusing.

Every time the party is on the overland map, the party restores their fatigue to full. However, the wounds still stay the same.

Say for instance in week 1 you flee the dungeon back to Tamalir. In week 2 you can choose to take a recuperate/train in Tamalir.

Each hero gets to choose which building they go to. For 50g you can heal for full at the temple.

Market, Alchemist, Training Ground, Temple, or Tavern. See how to use buildings on pg 21.

While in a dungeon, you can "visit" Tamalir and heal at the Temple 5 wounds for 25g.

The only way to heal is to be in a temple at a city. For instance, Forge only heals 2 when visiting.

Yeah, you actually can't recuperate or train in the wilderness. The "recuperate/train" action means the party doesn't move, and instead can visit any of the buildings in the city.

If you choose this action in the wilderness, it basically means you just don't move. You can't actually heal. I think this is clarified in the FAQ.

So remember, "visit" means you may move one trail and then in the city you land on, each hero (one after the other) goes to either the market, alchemist, tavern, or temple for 25G healing for HP equal to the temple rating. "Recuperate/train" means you stay in your current location and each hero goes to the market, alchemist, tavern, training ground, or temple for 50G full healing.

It's also weird that the rulebook says recuperating at a temple for 50G will restore all your fatigue when fatigue is automatically restored after each encounter or dungeon anyway.

This is what i needed. Heroes must be in a city to take a recuperate/train action. This is not written in the rulebook. I thought that was something like rest or something in the forest. Now it's all clear, and it makes sense. Thank you so much!
