Just got this from the Kickstarter, it looks beautiful and plays well. I just found one issue in my first 3 player game: one of the player's starting hand had no cards in it which would allow him to draw more cards. It means that while the other 2 players both had overflowing hands, he only ever had his original 4 cards that he could play one at a time through the hideout. Did anybody else run into this, or did I miss something in the rules which says how to deal with this?

At this point, I'm considering house ruling that if your starting hand has no draw cards, you can discard the whole thing and draw another 3.

You start with 3 ringleaders (one of each) and 3 random cards, one of the ringleaders (Mastermind) allows you to draw cards.

Each player should start with 1 copy of each ringleader, Mastermind, Pickpocket, and Thief. The Mastermind is equipped with a drawing ability. To note, you can never lose these 3 cards over the course of a game, so these 3 cards are the "Basic Actions" that every player is able to utilize.

In addition to the 3 Ringleader cards, deal each player 3 random specialists from the specialist deck. This should give each player the beginnings of some sort of engine.

For your first couple playthroughs, I recommend NOT using the Informant ringleader cards. This is a mini expansion to base game and may be too aggressive or difficult for novice players.

As an aside, in the very unlikely circumstance a player should be dealt the 3 same specialists randomly, a reshuffle and redeal is recommended.

Well, we sure read that wrong, we each picked a ringleader. Makes a big difference, I'd say.

Thanks for the help!

As the game goes along you would be surprised at how many cards you can get into your hand.
