We have been playing hoax a lot recently. One of the rule discussions that comes up a lot is when it is acceptable to call Hoax when there are only 2 players left. With the way the rules read, once you call hoax you take the card and cannot call it again. But when down to 2 players, that seems to make the game kind of stale. Anybody play with any house rules for this? Thanks.
It won't be easy. But it can be done.
Only one of our games so far ended with a two-player match off. And in that case, it was a question of deducing who your opponent was, before they got a chance to do so. Calling hoax in a two-player situation seems like a Hail Mary to me.
Have you tried leaning heavier on "unmasking" your opponents?
