Here is a quick tease of the prototype model for the upcoming Anniversary Limited Edition of Star Trek Panic!

Just Kidding. This is a model I 3D printed. It needs a few little tweaks and is almost ready.

Hobby aquariums are just like board games: except wet, fishy, and you can't play them.

Are there notches so you can clip on the damage markers?

Yes, all of the tokens fit correctly. There are slits on the underside of the saucer so the tokens can slide on. For the nacelles, you slide the cover back slightly to reveal the support to clip them. The top of the bridge is cut to allow the "No Maneuver" token to fit. All six section caps are removable so you can place the destroyed tokens. And the whole thing fits neatly in the box just like the original cardboard one.

Soon. I hope put this up on Thingiverse and Shapeways this weekend. A few of the parts are not slicing quite right.

Any guess of what it may cost?

Price is a big question. Most online 3D printing services are pricy. Especially for larger pieces like this. That said, I plan to post this to Thingiverse. So if you have access to your own printer, you can print it pretty cheaply. It is sliced to be a very easy to print, even with a small bed.

The model is available now in Thingiverse and Shapeways.

The price came out higher than I hoped on Shapeways, but the quality should be very good. I will continue to look for other places to produce the model. At least it is available in the meantime.

The price is certainly ridiculous on Shapeways ($138CAD) but it does look great.
I'll keep the Thingiverse link bookmarked for when I finally get my own printer.

In the photo you show small models of the enemy ships as well. Are those sculpts available?

Those other models are just various ships I found on Thingiverse. I can't remember where I found the K7 station. Maybe trekmeshes…
The material price to print it yourself is cheap. Well under $5 + the better part of a day in print time. Most of the Shapeways price is from the build volume, which is quite large.
(Which suddenly has me thinking… I wanted the Shapeways model to be one piece, but I wonder how much I can shrink it down if I left it as the 14 smaller parts. It is cut so the seams aren't notice able anyway. Let me play around tonight to see how far I can shave it down)

Shapeways sells them but they charge well over $100 plus shipping.
I'm about 5 pieces in to printing one. Takes a bit of time.

Printing it in parts is very easy. It is designed to have very few seems, not require supports and be easy to assemble. Don't be afraid of the number of parts.
Unfortunately printing in a single part without marks from the supports requires a commercial style printer like Shapeways uses. And for a part this large, they charge a lot.
Robert, I'd love to see pics once you have it completed!

I plan on it. I'm running into so issues with the Base. It's a bit wide and it's rolling up on me. Not sure if my bed is to hot or to cold or if it needs some blue tape or something for the PLA to stick to.
