Upon quickly arriving on the desert world of Arrakis a few things happened with great speed. The Fremen occupied the latest spice blow, the Atriedes moved into the desert, and the Space guild consolidated its hold on Tuek's Sietch.

Another spice blow would prove fruitful for the Atriedes, and the Guild would soon make its move. A nexus arrived in turn decimating the Imperial troops that had secured it to deny others from its fruitful flow.

Alliances were drawn up, the Atriedes in control of a Arrakeen and Harkonnen in control of Carthag decided to set aside their differences and work together to quell the upstart Fremen and the decadent Guild/Emperor alliance newly formed.

A great battle was to take place in the Habbanya Sietch. The Guild arrived in force to flush out the fremen from their strong hold, and behold whats this! A lazgun is produced by the attacking Guild, but the Fremen had scavenged a shield from some poor hapless noble and the entire Sietch exploded violently leaving nothing standing.

The Imperial forces having been weakened by the worm and the Guild losing a major blow to the Fremen, the Atriedes / Harkonnen alliance was ready to make their move. Atriedes dropped in troops to Habbanya Sietch to secure it for the alliance. The Harkonnen landed in force at Sietch Tabr to force the Fremen grip from this stronghold. The Harkonnen won an easy victory having already convinced their leader to turn them over. The traitor was paid in full and then sent to the tanks to be recloned.

The Atriedes however had a hard time fighting off the Imperials superior Sardaukar forces and Habbanya was to change hands again.

Some time would pass before another major conflict would arise, but then the Harknonnen Atriedes alliance saw their chance. The Guild had only one leader left, having lost the others to minor conflicts and the Atriedes knew them to be a traitor. Striking with the Hajr they set across Arrakis and took down the Guild quite handedly in Tuek's Sietch.

The Harkonnen's towers of troops appeared invincible on their two strongholds, but the Fremen made a desperate play in Sietch Tabr committing the rest of their remaining force to stopping the unholy alliance from a sure victory. The emperor too landed troops in what looked like a futile attempt to take Carthag, a hail mary play to prevent the inevitable.

But alas, time will tell of the deeply embedded traitor the Harkonnen's themselves had, Feyd, had sided with the Fremen in a secret alliance, forcing the Harkonnen's to lay down their arms and surrender Sietch Tabr. Shocked the Harkonnen Baron turned to his beloved stronghold in Carthag, and this time, thought himself wise, he used a Captured leader from the Fremen, Chani would lead them in combat against the Emperor. But as with all things in Dune, there a plans within plans...

Chani would turn out to be working for the Emperor this entire time! The Harkonnen Baron was beaten entirely off of Dune in one fell swoop. From the most powerful person in control of Arrakis to sitting stunned in his chair.

The landscape had changed drastically and everyone was finding their footings, when opportunity struck. Another Nexus, would see alliances shift, the Emperor dropped the now crippled Guild, while Atriedes dismissed the Harkonnens after their stunning losses.

Controlling Carthag, Arrakeen, Habbanya Sietch, and Tuek's the Emperor and Atriedes would not be stopped. This new alliance would carry the day to victory.

Another phenomenal game of Dune. For such a classic this game just stands the test of time for all of us, I would also really like to get a full six player game in someday as the BG remain untested for us in the arena of Arrakis.

Re: The Kitchen battle for "Baked Arrakis"!
""Dessert World"! and were you aware of an old 'Fremen' 'survival technique'? You take 'coins' out of your pocket and EAT the 'dates' off of them! cool

The dessert has been replaced with a dry gritty substance. And the Freemen have lost an 'e' somewhere. Probably to Canada. eh.

Thanks it was late, but I didn't want to forget anything.
